Natural cellulose set to prevent allergy symptoms this spring
17th August 2009: SASMAR Consumer Healthcare is launching Nasaleze into Australian pharmacies in time for the upcoming spring allergy season.
Nasaleze is a clinically proven nasal powder spray that delivers fast, effective protection against airborne allergens inhaled through the nose.
It is made from a unique blend of cellulose and peppermint and acts as a natural barrier to airborne allergens. It is designed to work with the body's own defence mechanism to strengthen its resistance to allergens.
By applying to the insides of the nose, the powder forms an invisible, gel-like coating which stops allergenic particles irritating the nasal tract.
Research1 suggests that allergy sufferers who use inert cellulose powder to treat their allergy symptoms are less likely to use rescue medication like antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops to help alleviate their symptoms.
Gerald Quigley, who is a Melbourne-based practicing Community Pharmacist and accredited Herbalist, says the availability of Nasaleze in pharmacies will give allergy sufferers another evidence-based option this spring.
"It's good to see more evidence-based options being made available for those Australians who are affected by airborne allergens. There is clearly evidence that cellulose powder is capable of acting as an effective barrier and providing some relief for people who might be looking for a natural option," said Quigley.
Nasaleze is available in a 500mg spray pack which delivers approximately 200 doses and around 30 days of use, depending on how regularly it is required. Consumers are advised, via the pack instructions and the consumer insert, to use Nasaleze as required.
